Injection Molding Inserts
The tight-tolerance low cost alternative to machined inserts
Stripmatic has developed a manufacturing process to make inserts that will hold up to the molding process, prevent ID seepage and be less expensive than machined inserts.
Tight-tolerance injection molded inserts from Stripmatic offer:
- 100% guaranteed closed seams to eliminate seepage during the molding process
- Flat and parallel rolled or machined ends for a complete seal to prevent seepage during the ID
- Knurled or indent pattern on the OD can often be used to help reduce the molding cycle time and to prevent distortion as the part is injected
- Chamfer details can be designed to seal off the mold flush on the OD and create a lead edge on the ID for improved bolt location
- Can use range of materials or may be plated for corrosion resistance
Tight Tolerances
- Consistent OD and length tolerances improve mold cycle times and finished part quality
- Concentricity of part will help maintain centerline to centerline dimensions
- This process can meet or exceed axial load design requirements
Cost Savings
- Shorter lead times and less price volatility than inserts machined from tubing
- Most features are performed in-process vs costly secondary operations
Solid Experience - Fast Response
